Our Credentials

Accreditations & Certifications

Every accreditation a UK commercial solar installer should hold — verifiable against the issuing body. Below is the list, with what each one means and how to verify.

MCS Certified

Microgeneration Certification Scheme — Commercial

MCS commercial certification covers solar PV installations above 4 kW. We hold the commercial-grade MCS certification (not just domestic), which is the prerequisite for any UK SME-scale project to qualify for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariffs and most public sector and grant funding.

NICEIC Approved Contractor

Electrical safety standard

NICEIC Approved Contractor status is the gold standard for commercial electrical work. Every install we deliver is signed off by a NICEIC-qualified electrician, certified to BS 7671 18th Edition, and registered against your business address for warranty purposes.

RECC Member

Renewable Energy Consumer Code

RECC sets the consumer protection standard for renewable energy installers in the UK. Membership requires complaint-handling, transparent quoting, and warranty practices that protect commercial customers from cowboys.

TrustMark Licensed

Government-endorsed quality scheme

TrustMark is the only government-endorsed quality scheme for tradespeople. Required for ECO4, GBIS, and many Salix-funded public sector projects. Indicates audited workmanship, financial protection, and dispute resolution.

IWA Insurance-Backed Warranty

Independent Warranty Association

Our 10-year workmanship warranty is insurance-backed by the IWA. If we cease to trade, the warranty remains valid and is honoured by the underwriter. This is the protection your premises insurer wants to see — no self-insured guarantees.

About IWA

ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001

Quality, Environment, Health & Safety

Triple ISO certification: quality management (9001), environmental management (14001), and occupational health and safety (45001). Audited annually by an accredited certification body. Standard requirement for tendering on public sector and FTSE 250 supply chain projects.

CHAS / SafeContractor

Health & safety pre-qualification

Pre-qualified contractor on CHAS and SafeContractor — required for tendering on most large estate, public sector, and CDM-regulated projects. Annual audited submission of health & safety policies, RAMS, and incident records.

About CHAS

Why accreditations matter for your project

Three of the seven accreditations above are functional requirements — your project literally won't qualify for certain benefits without them. MCS commercial certification is required for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) eligibility. NICEIC is required for any commercial electrical work to be insurable in most premises. TrustMark is required for ECO4, GBIS, and most Salix-funded projects.

The other four are quality signals — they tell your finance director, premises insurer, and procurement team that the installer they're about to write a £50k-£500k cheque to has been audited by independent third parties. Together they form the trust stack that separates engineered commercial solar from the cold-call cowboys still active in this market.

What's NOT on this list

We deliberately don't claim memberships of trade bodies that don't have audit teeth, certification schemes that anyone can join for £100/year, or "approved installer" status from manufacturer programmes (which are usually marketing partnerships, not quality marks). If a competitor's "accreditations" list looks longer than ours, ask them which ones are independently audited and which are just badge-buying.
